77 degrees today. Sunny. Marge says Im 3 shades darker. Personally, I think it may be dirt. Rode a lovely 12 miles MOL today. Up & down, scrambling up sandstone slickrock & splashing into crystal clear streams, horses drinking & standing quietly.. Picking our way through deadfall and walking down a stream bed. A lovely clear river that alternates rapids & quiet green hued pools, the level smooth former railroad bed a perfect platform for walking, trotting OR cantering.. Taller than tall cliffs that makes the neck ache & the heart soar to take them in. Periwinkle in bloom. ALL manner of birds heralding in spring. Came back early to give the horses a well deserved bath, with soap and EVERYTHING. Let them back into their acre turnout to roll in last years dry leaves & dusty loam. They really like their box stalls. Beet pulp & Oatmeal gets them going both supper & breakfast. Us? Marinated sirloin, salad & seasoned boiled taters. A little WiFi time, maybe a hot tub later. Batteries are getting seriously recharged. Followed a private trail to a waterfall dripping cave near our cabin. Too cool for words. Photos tomorrow.
