8/1-2015 First day in Durban an what a view to wake up too. We are on the hillside over viewing the whole bay. First a morning run (this is for Hans) down to the beach to check out the conditions, and have to say with a smile, specially for those who have heard me talking about waves in Denmark, this was real waves - but our DMT Andre who nicely follows my on my morning runs said it was nothing and really great conditions, he probably think the same about my running speed? Except from great conditions of course. The day started with inspection of the dive center, hotel and planning of new shop - must say Im impressed and looking so much forward to rock SA. In the afternoon we went to the Crock farm, about 10 minutes driving from the DC. Here we meet Henry a crock from around year 1900 - Henry had a bit to much taste for small kids, so when he got captured they decided that as a punishment they wouldnt kill him, but keep him under lock for the rest of his life time - so here he is, behind double fence as the only one on the farm - can be to bad though, he have 20 wifes and produce around 400 small crocks every year. After that we went next town and checked out our competition, guess I shouldnt make any comments here in public and who cares anyway, if you follow this post youll be diving with us anyway :-) Then evening BBQ .........speechless, got traditional Biltong soup as a starter and for those of you who know me, you know Im not to brave in trying new unknown food! But hey the description was a meaty soup made with cheese and spices - do I need to say more? One of the best thing Ive ever tasted. After that of course big steak that was just as smooth as the soup, actually quite sure we could have eaten it with a spoon, accompanied with African porridge and yes Else I did eat that too :-) guess Im in love with this country and specially their food. Only problem is that if I move here Ill have to run about 100 km. a day to compromise for all that food and wine I would consume. Reporting Minni SA
