8/14/14 - Below is a video of the Male Pitty, by the name of Smalls that was found in Cave Creek and brought into our vet office yesterday to scan for a microchip. He DOES have a microchip and the owner has been contacted by our office Twice (left msg on voice mail), Homeagain sent him an email and MCACC will be contacting him as well. Since his owner(s) never came forward after 24 hours, we called MCACC to pick him up. (Clinic policy) He was taken to the East shelter - This is his A #: A3264190 I am sharing this video, in case his owner never comes forward...and I hope Rescues will see what a SWEET boy he is. He has a bit of a story from what I discovered on my own - His owner is located in Peoria...yet found in Cave Creek. (odd, right) So, I did a bit of investigating. I saw this exact same dog on CL that had been Found on 8/12. So another employee reached out to the Finder & she stated she found him at the City Dump in Peoria, where there are many stray dogs...he ran over to her, jumped in her car, but she was unable to keep him...so, gave him to a friend who lives in Cave Creek - who then, let him loose (Again) - SIGH!!! :/ This sweety was totally friendly with me and our vet clinic staff (as you can see in the video) - but after speaking with MCACC during pick up - Unfortunately he does have a Bite history :( So, he is NOT good around small dogs or small children. Of course, any rescue would want to do their own evaluation of him, which is understandable. In my eyes....that shouldnt mean he shouldnt get a chance with a WONDERFUL home without small dogs or children. I hope after all hes been through...someone gives him a chance.
