#8: When you are looking for employment, one of the things you inquire about is the benefits package. The Sisters offered a decent one. The insurance plan, life insurance policy and the 401K were great. However, in the years ahead, the ‘benefits’ I would appreciate the most were the prayers the Sisters abundantly said for me. During times of grief: the death of my infant son, my father and then my mother, the Sisters’ prayers helped to give me strength. The prayers of gratitude during happy occasions, (marriage, births, etc.) were just as appreciated and welcomed. Hearing one of the Nuns say, “I am saying a rosary for you”, or “I prayed for you at Mass today”, has been a great comfort during life’s ups and downs.
