9/4/2013: Attempt Armed Robbery ~ Columbus Ave On 9/4/2013 at 2230 hrs, Chico Police received a report of an attempted robbery which had taken place in the area of 1000 Columbus. Subsequent investigation revealed that the two victim’s had been walking back to their apartment after shopping at a nearby store. As they approached their apartment, they were confronted by a male subject wearing dark clothing and a Halloween mask. He was armed with a handgun. He demanded their wallets. During the confrontation, one of the victims dropped a bottle which he’d just purchased at the store. The bottle broke on the ground, possibly scaring the suspect away. Responding Officers were unable to locate the suspect. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Chico Police Department at 895-4911.
