9 BLEECKER FORECLOSURE: The next court date in the 9 Bleecker - TopicsExpress

9 BLEECKER FORECLOSURE: The next court date in the 9 Bleecker foreclosure case is Tuesday, May 20, 11 a.m. in the courtroom of Justice Jeffrey Oing, Room 242 of the New York County Supreme Court at 60 Centre Street in lower Manhattan. As most of you know, 9 Bleecker is empty now because the plaintiff in the case, Centech (AKA Brad Gordon), got the judge to appoint a receiver to operate the building, i.e. rent it out, and then the receiver made a motion to get everyone out so that he could rent the building. That was back in January (i.e. thats why Alice moved all of her stuff out and I moved Danas stuff out). However, the receiver has still not rented out the building so John Diffley, the lawyer for Yippie Holdings LLC and National AIDS Brigade, made a motion to get rid of the receiver on the grounds that the receiver is not doing his job. The court date on May 20 may not result in anything serious; in fact it might just be a date to set the schedule for making arguments, but it will be the first time that everyone is back in court since January and the receivers lawyers and Centechs lawyers may be required to explain what they have been doing all this time after pushing hard to kick out the Yippies. In other words, it might not be exciting - we might not even see the judge - but if you are in the neighborhood you can show support.
