A BRAND NEW LIFE! Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17) Dearly beloved, Lord Jesus Christ came into the world to save mankind and grant them new life. Today, the world is caught in the clutches of sin. The Bible says, "The soul who sins shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20). It adds, “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). As Lord Jesus could not bear to see His children suffer because of sin, He came into the world to deliver them. In John 16:33, Lord Jesus says, “Take heart! I have overcome the world." When He was in this world, satan brought three temptations to him. But He overcame each one of them through the Word. That is why the Bible says in Hebrews 2:18, “Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” And today, when we look up to Him, He hastens to help us. The Bible tells in Colossians 2:14, “having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.” The Scripture says, “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24). That is why He is giving us His grace today. Hence even we can say boldly like Paul, “I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Galatians 6:14). There was a dreadful burglar. He had no relationship with God. Every night, he used to take his knife and with his gang plunder the neighbouring houses. He even murdered many people. On his return, he brought many gold jewels to please his wife. His duty was to sleep all day long after looting at nights. One evening, as the burglar was walking down the street in his village, he noticed a servant of God telling the people about Lord Jesus, His life and how it was possible for Him to give peace, defeating the power of sin. The burglar stopped awhile and listened to the message. His heart was moved. He went over to that servant of God, knelt before him and said with tears: “Sir, will the Jesus whom you are talking about help me? I have money and status but absolutely no peace!” When he was prayed for with a burden, Lord Jesus came into his heart and filled him with His divine peace. He became a new man in Christ. With peace inexplicable, he went home that night and slept away. His wife who had no idea of what had happened thought that he was sick and allowed him to sleep. The next night too, the same thing happened. His wife was bewildered. “Why are you not going out to loot? Get up,” she said. She handed over a knife to him but his hands began to shiver. He said, “No, hereafter I will not touch this knife to steal and kill.” His wife said, “If that is the way you feel, I don’t need you anymore. You can go.” He was chased away from his home. Having lost his wife, house and everything he owned, he still left the place happily. Lord Jesus did not forsake him. Today, he is living a clean life full of peace and joy. Lord Jesus came into the world to destroy sin. He grants deliverance from sin, curse and death and gives new life. Friend, lift your eyes to the cross. Today, Lord Jesus is coming into your heart. He will destroy sin that is ruining your life and accept you as His child. You will become like Him. The Bible says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). When you become the child of God, you will be transformed into a new person. The former things will pass away and everything will become new in your life. Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, You came to the world to give new life to mankind. You suffered for our sake on the Cross. I lift my eyes to the cross. Come into my heart and grant me new life. Transform me into a new person. Let the former things pass away and let everything become new in my life. In Your matchless name I pray. Amen.
