A Beautiful Moment Created I stopped at the store this morning - TopicsExpress

A Beautiful Moment Created I stopped at the store this morning after dropping my wife of at work. As I entered, there was an older lady standing at the cash register while the store owner rang up her purchases. As she started to use the debit machine she made the comment to the store owner, “Are we supposed to get rain today?” I immediately jumped into the conversation replying, “The rain is supposed to start this afternoon sometime.” She looked at me and she had the most amazing blue eyes. They almost looked as though they were backlit or iridescent. She turned back to what she was doing and punched a few more numbers on the debit key pad, when she said, “” Oh that’s too bad!” I replied, “That’s actually good, we need the rain and it is still better than snow!!!” She giggled and said, “That is so true, but I would still prefer for it to rain at night when I am sleeping.” I the exclaimed, “Although true, nonetheless it’s still a beautiful day!” She smiled once again and looked at me. The store owner then indicated to her that the debit transaction was going to time out and looking a bit flustered she said, “Oh yes, I have to enter my pin number. I guess I am just having a seniors moment.” And she gave a little giggle. As she continued entering her numbers, the store owner asked me what I required, I indicated to the store owner what that was and he got them from behind the counter. He held out his hand for the required money and I showed him my debit card. He said, “Oh, just one moment and pointed toward the lady with the debit keypad. I then chirped again, to keep the conversation going and said, “I have seniors moments too and I am not even a senior!!!” Once again she let out the cutest little giggle, as her transaction finished. She then said, “I am getting so much older and the older I get the more I seem to forget. I am 72 years old today and it seems to be getting more frequent the older I get.” Jumping at the opportunity, I said, Its your birthday? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!” She got the most surprised and happy look at her face. Then I said, It’s your birthday and it looks as though you could use a good birthday hug.” I spread my arms wide and she moved right into them, as she said ”Oh, Yes!” Her face was aglow and you could see the happiness in her facial expression. She said, “I never have been able to pass up a good hug.” As we embraced we sunk into each other wrapped in good intentions and a knowing energy that we all crave. We unwrapped ourselves from each other, stepped back and she said, “You young man have just made my day, as a matter of fact you have made my week.” I could see the tears welling up in her eyes and they sparkled in the store lighting. She had the biggest smile on her face. We smiled at each other and then from the other side of the counter the store manager said, “Can I have a hug too?” Laughing I jumped between her and the store manager and her with my arms wide, while leaning over the counter. My arms were still wider than his eyes, as he stepped back in shock and then laughed so hard with a gut busting chuckle, as he stepped forward and hugged me. He said, while still laughing, “I meant that for her!” I said, “I know, but you could use one too.” The lady and the store owner then leaned over the counter toward each other and hugged. I finished my transaction and as she turned to exit the store, all three of us laughed, with huge smiles on our faces and I said, “Have a beautiful day, and remember to keep those smiles with you for the rest of the day.” What an amazing experience. I am still smiling and just wanted to share this with you all. Remember the day is always dependant on how we create it, the same as with this beautiful world we share can be, if we want it. Now get out there and smile through your day and if you see the opportunity to offer someone a hug, take it.
