A CASE OF SABOTAGE? The events preceding December festivities has made me believe that we can never work as one...people of bunyala. Bunyala Cultural night was mooted by the need for people of bunyala to come and share and relive our cultural events. moreso it was a platform for online reveler to meet and get to know each other. plans got underway..mittee headed by one #FelixAmu was tasked with mandate to plan for the event. Two admins from BOF, two Budalangi+ admins and one from Budas were coopted into the committee. Our brothers from #Bunyalarising committee were planning for the conference. When they got wind of our idea, they bought it. They were in need of such an event as the climax of the investment conference. They approach our committee and requested to work with us as far as entertainment is concerned. we pushed the event to 24th at their request....that was back in october...they requested for budget which was dully forwarded to them. They promised to look at it critically and see if they can partly fund the event so that public may not be charged entrace fee. Fast forward first week of december , the bunyalarising committee met and requested us to prapare poster and forward to them. while we were working on the poster...we got a rude shock....your budget was not considered! To our surprise #IsamboBeachCarnival was being advertised online! The area MP was in full support of Bunyala cultural night but not some people around him. They fed him with poisoned chalice....Who is funding the event and what is his intention?....BOF has dominated the committee!...blah blah blah.... We could not see our dream go to smoke, we decided to have an extravaganza. On the D day, the guest artiste for #IsamboCarnival didnt show up, he refunded the money...we received frantic calls requesting us to give them Ongidi at least for an hour...How could we? Night ban that had been imposed was removed...#Ongidi and our own #sidongeOlunga rocked Mulukoba till morning Those in leadership and perceived opposition shared tables...danced together...it was our joy..God had made this come true. Now if i may ask... 1. when we came up with the idea, did we intend to get funding from CDF? 2. How did BOF dominate in the committe? 3. How wld a person sabotaging your idea invite you to a conference? 4. Who was in charge of entertainment in #Bunyalarising committee? 5. How could you tell us to prepare posters only to tell us that our budget was never considered? Such kind of mentality has made willing manyalas shun their motherland.....leaders come and go...bunyala will always be there.
