A Forbes writer has more eloquently said what Ive been trying to articulate about Food Babe Of course, I can’t tell anyone how to responsibly promote their personal brand and I wish that critical thinking skills among the populace were better. But I’d really love to see people with high-penetrance media profiles address issues that truly matter to human health and not just promote themselves for shock value. I know Food Babe has good intentions and I see my old self in her (in fact, years ago, I myself wrote an expose on Subway). She is also, as this writer says, very media savvy and smart. But is she missing something? Or is this just what happens when we become militant on one side of an issue? I couldnt help but sigh at the end of Food Babes recent report on Taco Bell when she offered up her recipes at the end as a solution to the problem...as if cooking from scratch would ameliorate the root cause of the food industry monoliths power and our countrys ailments. Perhaps its a start. But its a start for people who really have more means than most of of us do, financially and time-wise. And, it seems like a band-aid. You are welcome to disagree with me (and/or with the author of the below, of course). What am I missing?
