A New York Times article on the case of world famous NSA contractor-turned-whistleblower Edward Snowden maintains that Snowden is angling for a plea deal that would allow him to return to the US while skirting severe sanctions. Upon inspection, however, the article from established reporter Charlie Savage looks more like a smear job on Snowden than real news.
