A POINT TO PONDER... I regularly make it a practice to park my car very far away whenever I go to a destination. Today, I was pleasantly surprised when someone else did the same - An 80-plus young lady I met in the parking lot at a local Costco. Might I add that this woman has lung disease and was accompanied by her oxygen tank and her son who she refused to let carry it. Here are some highlights from our brief dialogue: ME (Addressing the womans son from my car): Hi there, you can go ahead and help her out of the car. Ill wait until youre done. WOMANS SON: No, no, not at all youre fine, she wont even let me help. WOMAN: No, dont worry about him helping me miss but thank you. I told my son here to park very far away from the door because sometimes we all need a little exercise. Sure they gave me that old handicap parking plate but thats not how I like to do it. Ive got legs and what little oxygen I have left I sure plan to use wisely. So, what is the moral of this story? Well, its a simple one. Lets stop focusing on what we CANT do and start focusing on what we CAN do. I cant stand the word cant. Make time to get in a little activity whenever you can. This can be as simple as parking your vehicle far away from your final destination or even opting for the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator if you’re physically capable of doing so. Think about this phenomenal elderly woman from Costco who has lung disease... Physical activity doesn’t have to be all or nothing and exercise shouldn’t be a one-time a day event. Do a little something whenever you can to improve your health and your life. Learn more here: goo.gl/2lWiQh. #FightObesity #health #fitness #exercise #LetsMove
