A Special Message from The Ministry of St. Francis of Assisi The most amazing story I have heard recently about our friends of the animal kingdom is that of the lion whisperer, a man who has so loved lions that they love him back and play with him like kittens. That story aired on CBS 60-minutes Sunday. You should try to see it to understand the power of love. A similar story of a woman who cared for a big cat and then released it back into a nature preserve went viral on u-tube earlier this year. When she went back five years later to visit, the cat recognized her and put his big arms around her and hugged her as a child would hug its mamma. In the days when I sailed long distances with a friend, the greatest pleasure was being accompanied by playful dolphins who would criss cross our wake, jumping high for salutes to us, and then come alongside to keep us company. I pity the poor human who does not understand the sheer joy of friendship with other living beings. My own special companion, Criolla, makes me laugh and love every day.
