A Thought for the Day/Mensaje del dia Today is the beginning of Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting. Keeping Ramadan is one of the five pillars which make it simple to understand what one has to do to be a good Muslim. I have long felt we ought to be able to do as well to make it simple to understand what to do to be good Christian. This is the inspiration for “The Four Pillars” below: 1. Post “A Practical Creed” where you will often see it. Read it whenever you have the chance. 2. Say “The Our Father” every day and mean it. Be aware that when you say, “Thy kingdom come,” you are acknowledging that nothing is more important than heaven, and when you say, “Thy will be done,” you are acknowledging that God’s plan for you always knows best. 3. Treat others as you want them to treat you. (In moments of conflict, strive to see the situation from the other person’s point of view.) 4. Come to church. Hoy es el comienzo de Ramadán, el mes de ayuno en Islam. Respetar Ramadán es un de los cinco pilares que presentan en una forma bien simple lo que uno tiene que ser para ser un Musulmán piadoso. Desde mucho tiempo, yo me he sentido que nosotros podamos algo similar para ayudar a la gente entender lo que debemos hacer para ser Cristianos piadosos. Así fue la inspiración por “Los Cuatro Pilares” abajo: 1. Coloque “Un Credo Práctico” donde esté visto y leído con frecuencia. 2. Diga “El Padre Nuestro” todos los días, y cada vez con sinceridad. Esté consiente que decir “Venga Tu reino” significa que yo sé que no hay nada más importante que ir a los cielos, y decir “hágase Tu voluntad” significa que yo sé que el plan de Dios para mí siempre me da lo que necesito. 3. Trata a los demás como deseas que te traten a ti. (Cuando hay conflicto, busca ver la situación desde el punto de vista de la otra persona.) 4. Venga a la Misa.
