A Tribute to a Moses & to a Living Stone Fourteen years ago there was a Moses A dozen and two years ago Aluta was aluta Fourteen years ago there was a Livingstone A dozen and two years ago Aluta was a living stone. Moses Oisakede was indeed a Moses Livingstone Akwanga was indeed a living stoone Then came the first of September, A month students will forever remember. On the way to Makurdi for the plight of others At the peril to his own career at Ekpoma. That was the spirit of Aluta Continua But today aluta has ceased to be a continua! - SME. On September 1st 1999, while travelling to the University of Agriculture, Markurdi to plead the case of some expelled union activists, NANS President Moses Oisakede and Comrade Livingstone Akwanga lost their lives in a car crash on the Ankpa-Markurdi Road. Moses was my first inspiration in activism and I have since adopted his philosophy; "LIFE IS WORTH LIVING, ONLY TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS LIVED IN THE SERVICE OF HUMANITY". Continue to rest in peace Comrade Moses Oisakede and Comrade Livingstone Akwanga.
