A WAY OUT! [1Ki.19:9-10] And Elijah came to a cave, and lodged there; and, the word of the LORD came to him, and the LORD said unto him, What are you Doing here, Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God: for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and slain your prophets; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. Sometimes in our spiritual journey we may come to a place where we feel completely Isolated and utterly Alone! At those moments we need to be reminded that we are not alone! God has preserved others who are also travelling a similar road! You are not alone in your trials and ministry challenges. God has preserved at least seven thousand servants of common experience. (1Ki.19:18) ---7,000 that are tempted and tried like you; 7,000 who need comfort and A Way Out like you! 7,000 who God has appointed to do His work! Saints consider this; the power of depression comes from the false feelings of isolation and aloneness! Gods solution to Elijahs depression and our depression is the same; and is discovered in His question! God asked Elijah the same question a second time: What are you Doing here, Elijah? (1Ki.19:13) ---Gods solution for Elijah as well as us is found in The Doing and not in the Feeling! God immediately tells Elijah to Get Up and Do the work assigned to him! (1Ki.19:15-17) My dear friends, your escape from the cave of spiritual depression is found in the Doing of Gods assigned work! No trial has overtaken you that are not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide A Way Out so that you may be able to endure it. [1Co.10:13] TODAY, YOU ARE NOT ALONE; GOD HAS PROVIDED A WAY OUT! Blessings, Pastors Matthew and Mary Scott
