A another beautiful birds species is going to disappear, we should take immediate attention for the conservation of diversity. The house sparrow (Passer domesticus) is a bird of the sparrow family Passeridae, found in most parts of the world and is strongly associated with human habitations, and can live in urban or rural settings. Though found in widely varied habitats and climates, it typically avoids extensive woodlands, grasslands, and deserts away from human development. Look around – the once-common sparrows are now harder to see. And it’s not just in your neighborhood but the world over. No one agrees on exactly why sparrows have disappeared, but the most common reasons are thought to be changes in architectural styles of houses that no longer support nesting. Their numbers have gone down drastically, specially in the Indian montane and submontane regions due changes in life style pastern of developed areas. S parrows dont like to build their nests in high-rise buildings. They prefer old-style construction where there are lots of nesting spaces. Also, because of pollution and use of insecticides, they are no longer able to find soft-bodied worms to feed their chicks. People need to be made aware that the sparrow shares the space with us in the cities and need to be encouraged to feed them.
