A bit late for hallows eve, but here is your sneak peek at the beginning of the next TRIO adventure, Outlaws.... enjoy! ;) CHAPTER ONE The two gryphons lowered themselves from the sky effortlessly and settled down through the branches of the forest with ease. They nestled into the ground quietly and the two elf riders disembarked from their saddles and secured their rides to a few nearby trees. The two elves moved off and into the underbrush, ducking and weaving to avoid any obstacles and gliding over the ground delicately to keep any noise to an absolute minimum. When the two reached a small creek in front of them they stepped ever so quickly on the few stones that jutted out of the water and they were across in mere moments. The two almost looked like shadows that crept along the landscape with the moons light as their only guide. A framework of sorts, an old decrepit castle of neglect stood out against the treeline and the two elves paused briefly at the base of it and found the entrance they were seeking and went inside. The two took the steps up several at a time, all the while maintaining their silence as they sidled over the stone. At one of the doorways on the second level of the building the two elves stopped their advancement and looked into the room. One elf whispered into the ear of the other, “You want to go in first?” “Not really,” the other replied with a snicker. “I can hear you both you know,” a voice mumbled from the darkness. Zach sat up in his bed and yawned. “Did I ever tell you that I really don’t care for this elf hearing that Riane gave me?” “Only every other day,” Brielle sighed. She reached over to a piece of dried wood with grass wrapped around the end of it near the door way and pulled it off the wall. Brielle pulled out some sort of stone from her pocket and spoke a few words that sent a few sparks into the grass. In moments the torch was lit and the room was cast in the dim glow it provided. “So what brings you two in this time of night?” Zach muttered. He stood up and wandered over to a series of shelves where a cup and a pot sat, and poured himself a cup of water. He took a sip and faced the two elves. “Well?” Elise cracked a smile and looked at Brielle and then back to Zach. “We found it.”
