A buddy of mine named Dave, a great musician, happened upon a Jack Bruce bass guitar ( Jacks favorite ) Warewick fretless, and bought it sight unseen. Gigged with it for awhile till Jack got his number & called him. Turns out the guitar was stolen & Dave had no clue. Jack said that Dave could have any bass guitar in the world he wanted but not his Warwick fretless. So Dave picked out what he wanted & Jack paid for it. What a guy. The day before Jack passed, I ran into Dave at a coffee shop & asked about Jacks new album & Dave gave me a thumbs up review. Found out about Jack the next day while flying & it was a complete shocker. Jack was right up there with Jaco Pastorious innovating & setting the tone like many genius artists. He will be missed by the Cream of connoisseurs, those wholl miss him the most along with those thatve played with him. Thanks Jack...
