A college athlete getting paid is completely stupid. Getting treated like workers is also stupid. If you are a football player at Northwestern University you are getting paid 180,000 in tuition that doesn’t include dorm fees, tutors and meals. Sure maybe you should get a stipend so you dont have to go out and sell your own jersey to buy a stupid tattoo, but that stipend shouldn’t be the equivalent to the pay of a full time job. And if you feel like you bring in such big money to a program and to you its not appropriate compensation then go somewhere and sit down. That argument is lame and should also mean that those who attend UCLA Medical School should get paid as well, because they become amazing doctors and make that program highly respected therefore bringing in more students which equals more money.
