A cost effective alternative to paving may be to use road grindings for driveways, access roads, RV/equipment storage or approaches. Road grindings are ground up asphalt from the demolition of an existing road which has been ground into fine aggregate. Be sure that your contractors source of the grindings are free from debris that could affect the final quality. The existing surface is prepped, grindings spread and compacted. As the sun heats the material, the oils bind the aggregate to form a solid surface that will eliminate pot holes, mud, dust and provide a finished look. The project below included a combination of 100 tons of road grindings along with some asphalt for the driveway apron.
