A dear friend of mine has been diagnosed with uterine cancer and is about to undergo a post menaupausal hysterectomy where the uterus, tubes and ovaries plus lymph nodes are removed. She has asked me if I know of any singers who might have had a similar operation and if they have, did they manage to get back to singing? And if they did, how long did it take? I do have another close friend who has been down this road who now has no lower abdominal feeling post operatively, or feeling in the thighs, so I would hope that there are some more positive experiences than hers out there. As you can imagine my friend wishes to remain anonymous but has agreed that the best place for me to get some answers is here from our supportive Opera Talkers.
