A few events: 9/4 - 1/15: ART EXHIBITS: Narrative Influence Opening Reception 5:30-7pm on September 4th. Narrative Influence showcases the work of UNCP faculty and students whose work explores personal or symbolic narrative. These prints and drawings utilize a variety of historical techniques as a vehicle for story-telling, including silverpoint, pen and ink, photolithography, and relief printing. Faculty work includes Brandon Sandersons exploration of organic and mechanical form to Jules Floss investigation of the role of occupation and labor in individuality. The wide range of student work addresses humorous social commentary, military life and identity, sociology and mythology, and religious allegory. The opening will include a on-site demonstration of the use of a 17th century-style printing press. For more information call 738-4339. Gallery at UNC Pembroke are proud to host artist Jasmine Villalobos and her art collection, Coffee, The Perfect Blend. Free and open to the public.
