A few months ago, the people of Borno/Yobe have been severally accused of not doing enough to fight Boko Haram. Some were even saying that we should have done what the Azare and later Kano people did i.e chase them, catch them and lynch them. I usually try to make people understand that there are many instances when people fought BH but were later visited with heavy reprisals. I also argued that if the JTF will stop acting as an occupation force and collaborate with the people, the people will also cooperate. I think I have now been vindicated. With the now largely more professional attitude of the military, the people are even apprehending Boko Haram commanders and handing them over to the military.
