A few words about Daisukes 2000Days from a dear friend. Of course its only an opinion, but I thought Id share. .......................... I read it last night and Im still overwhelmed by his brutal frankness and sincerity toward his fans. There is no surprising news in the article, but it just breaks my heart to relive his tormenting and harsh experience of last two seasons that he calls the worst two seasons. Its too difficult to summarize this book, because it is Dai’s message as a whole book. As Dai himself said, he left behind all of him as a skater in this book. Indeed, every emotion is mixed up and still-raw there. If I pick up certain sentences as a summary, it may give you a wrong impression. But my personal first impression after reading is - He wants to let go of everything he gained and established: fame, achievements, his team, and probably even his fans and skate itself. He wants to be alone and restart as just a 28 years old man named Daisuke, I may be wrong, but I felt like this. But at the same time, as you know, this is Daisuke before XOI. He might change a bit now. In this book, he says again he is planning to go to America at least one year to study English and dance, So, SOI might be the last chance that we can see him skate in Japan. .................................................
