A friend of mine, Dave Fischer posted this scripture on Facebook this morning. Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls In describing what this verse spoke to him, he wrote what the word learn means here and I love what he said! The word learn in this verse means to not only acquire knowledge but also implies the ability to comprehend or experience it, in other words, live it out. As we become slaves to Christ Jesus, our soul will find rest. Being a slave to Christ brings freedom from the rulership of the soul which bases its decisions on the way that seems right unto man. Immediately I saw Learn of me=experience me! As He does His works through us we gain more insight as to who He is and gain understanding of the love He cries for us and desires to instill in us! I read a few verses before and the one after and this verse tugged at my heart….Verse 30 : For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” We lay our troubles/burdens at His feet, accept Him for who He is….our Savior, as well as our leader, our teacher, our helper and our guide. Accepting that we are yoked married to or one with Christ Jesus. His burden is light…most look at that as light weight, but what if we looked at that light as a light unto the world? Being yoked to that light we become a part of that light as well and no matter where we go nothing externally can divide that light! Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. I truly like this new concept/understanding of the word learn! Thank you Dave Fischer!
