A humorous addendum to my post of traffic Zen from yesterday. I - TopicsExpress

A humorous addendum to my post of traffic Zen from yesterday. I worked until noon, then drove down to Downey for an appointment. I finished up there pretty quickly, then drove back to South Pasadena to do some banking and have lunch. I got off the 10 at Fremont, and drove north in heavy traffic. As I got close to Valleys intersection the entire right lane stopped. The left lane was open. I checked and moved into the left lane and began to accelerate and SCRAPEEEEeeeee...some guy had not checked well enough and pulled out enough so that when I went by, he scraped the entire side of my car. (Sigh). I checked and memorized his license plate and turned right and into the drug store parking lot. He pulled in behind me. No license. No registration. Out of date by 6 months, insurance. so. no insurance. He walked up and asked me immediately not to call the police or report it. He said hed pay me off and offered me money right there. I took pictures of his car, VIN, and license plate. I got his name, address in Washington state and cell phone. I told him I was an Italian from North Jersey and if he didnt pay me Ill hunt you down and kill you and everyone in your family for 4 generations. He looked stunned. Me Ok, Im kidding about the kill you part, but you dont want to try and screw me, it wont go well for you. ----------he seemed pretty sincere and I got in my car and left. I pulled into the exit paveway and checked Fremont. There were solid cars in the inside lane and after letting a few vehicles go by, there was a big space for me to pull into and I did. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~BAM! A woman hits me from the side...hard. Me: Oh come ON... I turned immediately after she hit me and her SUV was angled right at a 40 degree angle. She had have come out of the inner lane and was trying to beat the light traffic and dunno...wasnt looking or something...but hit me in the left back door. I motioned for her to pull BACK into the same parking lot. She pulled up and it took her a good 10 minutes to find her papers. The whole time, acting really goofy (age not substance abuse), and trying to blame me, saying she was in the outside lane and I Suddenly pulled right in front of her. 1. I saw the ass of her car in the inside lane. 2. She was 40 degree angled when she hit me. 3. The damage to her left fender, very minor, was on the side of the front quarter panel. No chance of her being BEHIND me, then hitting me. She wanted to argue and while I felt some frustration I felt no anger and just calmly said Please, Im unwilling to argue about fault. Tell your insurance company whatever you want and well let them sort it out. I got her info finally and drove back to South Pas..CAREFULLY. (is there a target on my car?) What are the odds of getting hit TWICE in 15 min? (Sigh).
