A little boy starts a new school. He knows no one and has no friends. He is a shy child and has experienced tremendous heartache in his short life. He and his siblings live in a foster home; removed from their parents home due to abuse. A classmate befriends the little boy and shows him kindness. The classmate is then shunned by his friends because he was kind to the new boy. The classmates friends then begin to bully both the new boy and the classmate. They call them names, refuse to play with them and are very cruel. Their words are hurtful and make them sad. The classmate wonders if he should unfriend the new boy so that his friends will like him again. He thinks about what he should do. Then he decides that he wants to be friends with the new boy even if he loses his friends. He does not agree with how his once friends are treating the new boy and he will not go against his beliefs. He knows it may be hard but he chooses to do what he knows is right. His family is very proud of him and the choice he has made. Parents I beg you to talk with your children about bullying. Tell them it is intolerable. If they are the victim of bullying then urge them to talk with you. If they are the bully then let them know it is intolerable and you will not allow it to continue. Bullys are mere cowards that prey on the weak to boost their own lack of self esteem. STOP THE BULLYING!!!
