A lot of words this morning, but important!! 7 days into the May challenge and Ive been paying a lot of attention to how I hinge my hips throughout the day. One thing I have noticed is that I tend to lean a lot of weight onto my left leg when I bend forward. I attribute this to a knee injury that I had over a year and a half ago. My right knee doesnt bother me anymore, but for a while I was avoiding using it while it was healing. I wanted to share this because a lot of poor movement patterns are a result of old injuries. Your injuries may not be bothering you anymore, but if you didnt learn to move again after the injury healed then you may be still be moving incorrectly. So throughout the rest of May see if you can notice if you favor one side during your hip hinge, and then see if you can maintain even weight between both feet.
