A message from Albert Aure, head teacher from Uganda: Hi, I would like to add my thoughts on this day.20 years is a lot of time. When this organization was formed in 1994 it was not possible to imagine what its impact would be for both volunteers and the host communities. The expectations were mixed and in some instances not clear and the roles various people had to play. 20 years on we have come a long way. Most host communities now appreciate the concept of giving a hand and not hand-outs. The people to people contacts always leaves the communities yearning for more engagements. From Monze, Paluoc, The Misthy Cee Centre, Siriba, Affame. West Bengal.Owilo, Zumbo, Ogenda the hands have held countless projects. The people to people touch has seen disadvantaged pupils remain in school, have a school meal, uniforms and other requirements. Some are in final years at Universities. The Hands have indeed developed blisters but can still hold the hand of a child in need. I am proud to be associated with HATW for lifting children out of poverty. Finally I wish to thank all volunteers - present and past - for having walked with Dr.Steiner through this journey. The Trustees and all whose dedication in the past makes this day memorable. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.
