A message from the QDG Admins: We have noticed an increased trend lately for people posting links to their blogs in this group. In some cases permission has been asked (and granted); in others not. We don’t wish the group to be overrun by links to blogs elsewhere so thought we should spell out some guidelines which apply from now on. 1. All requests to link to a blog must be approved by the QDG Admins – please message any of us. 2. Principles we will bear in mind in deciding whether to approve are: (a) The link is to a specific blogpost on a discursive topic about quizzing which is likely to lead to discussion *on this group*. By “discursive topic” we mean the kinds of things that would get posted on QDG already. We are less likely to approve a request for blogs purely about TV quiz shows and we are positively unlikely to approve links to blogs of questions in the same way we do not permit question-posting in QDG itself. (b) We will generally approve a request to publicise a worthwhile blog on a one-off basis to help it gain a readership. The question of what constitutes “worthwhile” is one we’ll decide in our sole discretion – generally if we like the look of the blog as experienced quizzers we will accept this. However, we will not permit new or repeated posts each time new material gets added to the blog. 3. Overall, this is at our absolute discretion and we reserve the right to depart from the above principles if we wish to do that. As usual if people breach these rules they can expect a deletion (and in severe or repeated cases, potentially banning).
