A month after the Battle of Hogwarts Narcissa Malfoy divorced Lucius. As consequences for their involvement in the dark side Lucius received a years Azkaban sentence and Narcissa had her wand confiscated until she could prove she had reformed. The first step towards this was cutting ties with the people who had put her in the position to put her and her sons life at risk, especially Lucius. Draco had abandoned his family because of what they had done and made him do, and all Narcissa wanted in life was to be with her son. The only good thing about her arranged marriage with Lucius was the beautiful son they made together and she had only stayed because he had to power to kill her and their son if she left, no one could walk from the deatheaters. Now it had changed and she was going to buy a small cottage where Draco could live with her. They were going to be like her cousins Regulus and Sirius who faced family banishment in order to do what was right. Narcissa lived the rest of her live much lonelier, she socialised with people like the Weasleys and the Potters at functions Draco went to but the only person she was really friends with was Draco. Lucius was released from Azkaban but lived a recluse due to the shame and dishonour being a former deatheater brought. Bellatrix and Rudolphous both died in Azkaban, not that they would have ever apologised for their actions and forgiven Narcissa for changing sides. Narcissas only regret was that Malfoy was never allowed to be a little boy. All mothers dote about their son in their innocent years but Malfoy was expected to be more mature quicker and Narcissa always believed he lost part of his childhood that way. The mistakes she loathed the most in life were the ones she made as a mother. ~Padfoot
