A mum says: Could you please ask for some advice on a custody issue: the parents were separated when they found out they were expecting, they wrote up a parenting plan and both signed and dated it with independent witnesses, prior to the birth, but did not lodge it with the courts as things were amicable. The child is now 4 months old and the father is refusing to return the child to the mother at the end of the specified visitation. My question is, is there anything she can do to compel him to return the child or must she take it to court first?
