A mummy needs help Hi, not sure what to do. Just feeling very overwhelmed. My son who is 5 is due to start prep next year but not sure on what happens. He saw a pead for the first time a few months ago, pead said he had bad hyperactivity, he had speech problems and has social delays for his age. The pead said due to his age he would not even think about medicating at this stage. We went to interview for prep enrolment yesterday, and the school rang peads office so they could get a copy of the report in that report it said he has speech delay, social delay and is also showing signs of oppositional defiant symptoms. My concerns are the teacher aide we saw said he should be entitled to extra funding so he can get extra help. But after talking to the deputy principal, I dont think he is entitled to any. I know if he is not entitled to extra help he is going to struggle something badly and he wont be learning anything.. Im not even sure if he should go to school. Please help very concerned, as I know he will be classed as a naughty child, and he lashes out at people if he gets in his moods and also likes to try and take off
