A nation full of stupid, untalented people has stupid, untalented tastes. They love popcorn movies, reality TV, game shows, chat shows, sitcoms, hospital, legal and crime dramas and all the rest of the dross that is shown 24/7. A nation of slaves has slave tastes. Everywhere, quality is sacrificed for cheap, gaudy goods with instant appeal. The system is based on short-term gratification and cheap thrills.
