A parent asks our group: was curious what the pros and cons of OT are? Our 5.5 year old has some sensory issues that we have just picked up on. Dislikes loud noises, bright lights, textures, strong smells (he will force himself to gag and vomit if the smell doesnt go away), has to have specific socks, doesnt like tags on clothes or shoes, his underwear ALWAYS bug him, very hyperactive, is not a hugger (is weirded out about other people touching him). He talks very very loudly 80% of the time as well. I spoke with his doctor and she said she could refer to an OT. Just curious how this could help him?
