A relative was reminiscent about his Grandmother from Brooks County, who would meditate while singing Oh Day, Yonder Come Day. I was not familiar with the song, so I went on a search to learn more. This song was written in celebration of New Years Eve in anticipation of the freeing of the enslaved. It tells the tale of a day when the Sun broke into the soul. How powerful!! Where once there was darkness, now there is an Illuminating light of Freedom in the soul.
