A sewage spill has been reported in Eagle Harbor this evening and City of Bainbridge Island Public Works staff have mobilized. A temporary bypass has been set up at the SR 305 lift station so sewage flow to the beach main has been stopped. Crews will not be able to repair the break until tides are low enough to access the pipe, which is expected to occur late Friday afternoon. The break has been located and is within 100 yards of the break that occurred several months ago. At this time, the amount of sewage spilled into Eagle Harbor is unknown. Additional information will be released as it becomes available. Kitsap Health District has issued an advisory to avoid human or pet contact with Eagle Harbor waters until further notice.
