A short film produced by Al-Sharii’ Foundation. “A tribute to Mohammed Noor Matar, whom we lost when the Islamic state of Iraq and Al-Sham arrested him after the car bombing.” On Tuesday night, August 13, 2013, activist journalist Mohammed Noor Matar’s camera was found charred due to the bombing attack carried out by the Islamic state of Iraq and Al-Sham against the Descendants of the Prophet Brigade headquarters, in Ar-Raqqah. The attack had been followed by a bombardment (with RPG shells and bullets) of the demonstration which protested the practices of the Islamic state of Iraq and Al-Sham; journalists and paramedics happened to be at the scene. One of them was Mohammed Noor Matar, an activist journalist from Ar-Raqqah, born in 1993. He works with Al-Sharii’ Foundation, and his short film, “The Nightmare Happened Here,” recently aired on France 24. It tells the story of the Scud attack on Ar-Raqqah and the subsequent search for victims. Another film of his, about the liberation of Ar-Raqqah, is in progress. He also worked on press reports on Ar-Raqqah.
