The letter from John to Cynthia was for their very first Christmas as a couple. One can see both the innocence and love within Johns heart at this point of his life. When one reads of Lennon in these early years most often he is portrayed as a cynical young man with a heart hardened by pain. There were some people who not only brought out the best of John Lennon but who were witness to this personal and loving side of him. These people were few and far between. People who John felt comfortable enough to open up to without fear or ridicule. People who John invested his entire being into without the jokes both cynical and distracting and the hard edged teddy boy.
