A store I recently talked to about carrying some of my pieces asked if I could make any mermaids. I looked through some mermaid patterns and made the mermaid on the left based off of a combination of them. I was pleased enough for it being my first attempt, but it felt lacking somehow. Trial number two I simply started to play with and let evolve as she would. She makes me laugh hysterically every time I see her and I am having a ridiculous amount of fun piecing her together. She may not even fit in my kiln at this point and is probably significantly less on track with what they are looking for but my god does she elate me, and THAT is what I want my art to be all about.
