A tale from Gulistan-e-Saadi “Remembrance of Allah” (Zikr) Once, Hazrat Saa’di (ra) was travelling with a group. It was a custom in old times that all the travelers used to travel at night in deserts to avoid the heat and hot temperature. When they finally reached to a place where they could see the mist of dawn, they stopped and began to rest and some lie down and fall asleep, but suddenly a person ran towards the desert again while screaming. At noon he retured Saa’di (ra) asked him what went wrong with you i doubt your act. The person replied Have you never seen when dawn arises all the creatures including birds of different kind begin praying and are in the state of remembrance of their Almighty creator. How can a human being like me ignore and prefer to fall sleep. that is why i ran towards the desert and began remembering my Almighty creator. O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance. And glorify His Praises morning and afternoon [the early morning (Fajr) and `Asr prayers].” (33:41,42) And remember Allah much, that you may be successful. (62:10) Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you.” (2:152) : The Moral of the story is this that the “Purpose of Existence of human beings is remembering and praising Almighty Allah, and should take a lesson from other creaters that how obedient they are.
