A taste of, and the spirit of The Grateful Dead. DeadHeadLand - TopicsExpress

A taste of, and the spirit of The Grateful Dead. DeadHeadLand recently posted a Facebook review about last nights performance of the Dark Star Orchestra. Unfortunately they havent released any video or audio from that show yet. But I would like to post this performance of the DSO from a show they performed last June at the 10th Annual Mountain Jam. Its just one song called Eyes of the World (a Grateful Dead favorite of both fans and the original band) THIS POST is for all those folks that recently posted in the worst concert thread on how they found the Dead boring, the fans rude, the pot smoke overwhelming, and the vomit, well....nauseating. Im also posting this for Deadheads who insist in claiming that the spirit of the Grateful Dead died along with Jerry Garcia. Granted, it is true that there is NOTHING like a real Grateful Dead concert, but Im here to tell you that the spirit lives on with the offshoot bands, The Other Ones, The Dead, Further, Ratdog, Phil Lesh and Friends, and with so-called cover bands like the fabulous Dark Star Orchestra. And no, I cant possibly hope to change closed minds, and I cant make people like this kind of jazzy/blues/improvisational music if its just not your style. But for those that claim the spirit is dead (no pun intended) or the music is boring, I can invite you to listen to this one slice of what the Grateful Dead represented at their best, their worst, and everything in between, SANS pot smoke, twirling dancers, vomit, or spilled beer. ENJOY IF YOU DARE! youtu.be/D01baH2ObhQ
