A team of three women just arrived at our hill station residence - TopicsExpress

A team of three women just arrived at our hill station residence and they were educating us on the deadly and contagious Ebola virus. They laid emphasis on the need for us to adhere to sound and safe hygiene practices like frequent hand washing, and in that respect gave the household a lump of soap and instructed us on how to wash our hands with the soap. They also encouraged us to encourage sick household members to report to the nearest hospital for treatment so that they will ascertain at an earlier stage when the ailment is Ebola related or not. They made it clear that it does not mean if u experience vomiting frequent stool or high fever then u are Ebola positive as these signs are also related to other ailments like malaria typhoid et all but when we report these cases and the necessary treatment given the chances of survival are great. These messages are not new to us @ hill station but is very useful to people who never had the opportunity to these messages. No test was conducted on any of us as people have rumoured. So they are your brothers and sisters and are at yr door to help u and not to put yr house @ risk. Less I forget, they also gave out Ebola hand bills with messages and a sticker was pasted to the house to show that they came around. We appreciate their effort and we encourage Sierra Leoneans to welcome them with open hands. Sure we did not trust one another as we sensed it in their eyes and actions and they too must have sensed it. Receiving the soap and the hand bill explained it all.
