A tough day for photography in NY but a fine day for the Met. I walked across the Park this morning in a light rain, and New York felt like Paris. Completely charming. Colors by Bonnard. The museum was as always full of wonders, too many to engage in one day. In late afternoon I walked down to Times Square--in these northern climes dark comes about 5:30. What can you say about Times Square? Its the neon essence of capitalist desire. Its psychedelic money. Its hypnotic larceny aimed at the id. The weather is supposed to clear some tomorrow, and I hope to get out on the streets a bit more. What an incredible experience it is to be here!
