A very special film evening about dreams and love presented by Kerry based filmmakers Lisa Fingleton, Rena Blake & Michael Kelly. Waiting for you is an intimate and brave documentary spanning five years of the filmmakers journey through the rollercoaster world of farming and fertility treatment. The film weaves together drawings, visual notebooks and video diary footage and gives a privileged insight into an intimate world. It recently won the Audience Award at the Dingle Film Festival 2014 and the Royal Television Society Award for Best Postgraduate Factual film. Marathon Woman is a touching portrait of Ailbhe Keoghans attempt to run a marathon accross the Sahara Desert. In 2009, Ailbhe had never run further than the shops for cigarettes. After a visit to the refugee camps of Western Sahara, she decided to run a marathon in the desert in support of the Saharawi people. Michaels filming became more than just a documentation of her training regime, but more a document of the early years of their relationship, the love and friendships that they share, and their life together. The evening will also include a screening of “Women of Kerry And Our Journey” a short film by Rhi-Created, documenting the experience of the Equality For Women programme in Kerry. 8pm Friday 13 June, St John’s Theatre, Listowel, Co Kerry All welcome. Early Booking Recommended: 068 22566. Tickets €5/€7 Trailer for Waiting for You https://vimeo/68157199
