A word about Providence. I have needed a decent bass bow since I started playing bass. I have gotten by with fiberglass bows and really crappy free bows that were given to me. Very hard to play. I realized I need to invest in something decent in order to progress. At the violin conference I was given an opportunity to purchase an amazing pernambuco bow at a good price. I picked one out that seemed to suit me, for no particular reason, except that I liked the fact that it was made by somebody down in the Brazilian jungle whose name is Junior, and also the abalone that looks like a piece of art to me, a landscape that spoke to me in words I cant describe. An internationally known bass builder and player checked out my bow and confirmed it was a goodern. So I decided to buy this bow that I named Junior, but I didnt know where I was going to get the money. I decided to buy it anyway thinking that the money will come to me, somehow, some way. And Providence provided. We jammed at the hotel with Byron Berline and an enthusiastic fan of this kind of music came up and insisted on a stack of my CDs. That was a start. And then last night for the first time, I brought all my art prints to a show, and I sold enough art prints to almost pay for my new bow. This is how the universe wants to work, if we let it.
