A year ago today our world was flip upside down. We were sitting in an ER room with our little baby girl who had been miserable for over a month. She wasnt sleeping, she wasnt eating, she was very lathargic and we couldnt console her, we were lost and begging for an answer of how to help Lydia. Kelly had me record a video of Lydia thrashing around so we could finally SHOW a doctor what were talking about because it wasnt ear infections...wasnt teething....wasnt colic....wasnt celiac disease. Once the ER doctor watched the video she knew it was an abdomen issue and sent us off for an ultrasound, there was a mass. For the first time Lydia was given some strong pain medicine because she was in a lot of pain. Lydia was finally resting easy, something we were so thankful for. As we waiting for the CT tech to get ready, we were praying so hard that this was a very small mass! That it would be so easy to remove and never come back! God answers prayers, not always the way we want, but His plan is always better than ours. The CT showed a massive mass...His plan IS better than ours. One round of chemo later, we had some smiles out of Lydia! She was feeling good! Thank The Lord! 7 rounds of chemo, surgery, stem cell transplant, 4 weeks of radiation (and a new brother) and 3/5 antibodies therapy later our baby girl is no longer a baby, but one tough toddler! Her treatment wraps up the end of November and scans are in December. So thankful for all the prayer support, those that donated time and money, donated blood, and all the gifts and cards to help us all get through this last year! Through all this, theres a great many things weve learned, but were so thankful for a great God who has CARRIED us through and kept us on a FIRM foundation. We feel very blessed!
