ABSCONDING EMPLOYEES If an employee, after termination of his service, does not appear and cooperate for his visa cancellation proceedings, the employer should report the matter to the Labour Department. The employer is legally bound for it under Article-4 of Ministerial Decision No.390/1991 to avoid prosecution. Article-181(1) of the Labour Law states that the employer will be punished if the employee is caught still residing in UAE after the termination of the employment contract Article-104 of the UAE Civil Code states that doing a legally permitted act will not attract liability and he shall not be liable for any harm arising therefrom.
