ACTION ALERT: STOP FEDERAL UNDERMINING OF STATE LAWS Tomorrow, - TopicsExpress

ACTION ALERT: STOP FEDERAL UNDERMINING OF STATE LAWS Tomorrow, May 28, Congress will begin debating the Justice, Science, and Commerce Appropriations bill (H.R. 4660), which sets next year’s funding levels for the Department of Justice (DOJ). Our strong allies in Congress, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) and Rep. Sam Farr (D-CA) are expected to introduce an amendment seeking to restrict DOJ funds from being used to interfere with state medical marijuana laws, including conducting raids and law enforcement actions against medical cannabis businesses acting in compliance with state law. The amendment could be debated on the House floor and voted upon on as early as Thursday. Please take this opportunity to make a phone call your member of Congress and ask that he or she support the Rohrabacher-Farr Amendment to the Justice, Science, and Commerce Appropriations bill. My EMAIL to my US Rep. Patrick Murphy As a medical marijuana supporter in West Palm Beach Fl, I am writing to express my strong support for the Rohrabacher-Farr amendment to the CJS appropriations bill. Florida will have medical marijuana when State Constitutional Amendment 2 passes in November. Rohrabacher-Farr Amendment does not legalize marijuana but simply prevents tax dollars from being spent undermining state medical marijuana laws. Polling consistently finds that three in four Americans – including a majority of Republicans – do not want the federal government enforcing federal marijuana laws against state-legal medical cannabis businesses.
